Turkey day...

Since Martin was going out of town to visit Coco we had breakfast together. After trying Oklahoma Joe's (they don't open until 11) and Kansas City's Best Burger (they also don't open until 11) we found a little diner and had a delicious a breakfast together before he left town.

Considering I had to work the next day at 3:30 a.m it was a mellow holiday. Matt and I ordered pizza and he went to work and I drove to the mall to check out where I was suppose to work.

Just so you know the most popular Christmas gift this year (if wrapping them makes me an expert and it kind of does...) is the Snuggie. I must have wrapped 40 of them in pink, red and sports logos.

So yeah, happy holidays Missouri! You will be warm in your snuggies this year!

I'm keeping it clean mom...

This is what the apartment looks like. It's hard to get good shots with a phone camera and the plastic they put over the windows to keep out the cold. But yeah, dark wood floors... yellow cabinets that look white in the photo but are actually yellow....

And clean as the day is long. Room shot coming soon (not as clean...)

Student Show in the West Bottoms

The students had a show down at the Foundations building in the West Bottoms... I took a picture of the gallery when we were setting up but there were no lights on so it was too dark for the camera phone.

This picture was taken by Miguel which I stole because I forgot my camera that night.

Postcards to a Young Artist...

Mailbonding! I quickly sketched this idea and sent it out to be altered. Seeing it online makes me wish that I had worked harder on it, but that just means I will have to send more. This is where my work is heading... (but better, hopefully) and I just thought I would put it out there for you all to see.

Benjamen Sandness, who started this awesome project, is going to add to it and send it back.

Can't wait! Here is the website if anyone is interested... Re:Mailbonding!

Baby it's cold outside...

So it was the first official snow of winter. I was shocked when I woke up. I looked out the window and saw the white roof tops and thought I was dreaming.

It was fun scraping off the layer of snow sitting on my car but other than that it was not a big deal. And really, how could it be? As you can see in the picture the rain washed away most of the snow.

I am scared but I think I will be okay. I am leaving the window cracked at night to try and get my body to adjust the colder weather. I read online that you should take cold showers but that would just be painful.

I should be fine as long as I am not driving. I have scarves and beanies (thanks Aunt Martha and Unlce Tino) and nice leather gloves (thanks Aunt Patte)! I also got some snow boots. They are little boys and look like them BUT they were cheap and they are meant for below freezing temperatures.

I can't wait to come home to warmness and fog in less than 30 days!
